Default Lifter tick ka24e

What is the proper fix for a lifter tick? I've had additives and oil changes and that silences it for a bit but it always comes back and it's pretty noticeable. Is it as easy as a valve adjustment or do I need to replace the noisy valve?

You can try removing the hydraulic lash adjusters (rockers) and cleaning them. Or you can replace them

I had to replace mine to solve. Fortunately found a set, including the cam too, on eBay years ago, for fairly cheap. Turns out the KA24E was the engine of choice for oil tests, so the test-company had a lot of these kits on hand when they changed the preferred test-engine.
