the "0H601" is for the KA motor, try a 30537-21010 (still available $8) that was used on the Z24, that was a common one used on just about everything back then...

I found a pin to use. I'm glad I didn't just put the new pin in and call it a day. I knew there was a reason the pin snapped off. https://photos.app.goo.gl/kHFdTnCBvjStReaw6
New flywheel and clutch kit should arrive tomorrow. |

I downshift and engine brake a lot, could that be the cause of all this?

I was able to source a replacement pin. Ordered a new clutch kit, which ended up being good because yeah, it was destroyed.
https://photos.app.goo.gl/s94peGoBX5BZ42Gk8 Got the new kit installed and it's back on the road again. https://photos.app.goo.gl/aPrzzjkyKyC3dUWE9 https://photos.app.goo.gl/9cD6K1veMaV9L6JH6 https://photos.app.goo.gl/huPEfc7En2UGnKiY7 I found acdelco GL-4 at a dealership but I ran out of money to afford it. I went with the yellow bottles of pennzoil syncromesh (I guess it's gl-3?), 2.5 quarts. Seems to be doing ok. I had used GL-5 the last couple of times I've done the clutch which I only realized was a terrible mistake this last week. My gearbox is in terrible shape. there was lots of nasty metal shavings in the old oil, which was also a dark grey. I also can not get the fill plug to budge. It's probably gonna be stuck in there until the end of time! Last edited by ^Gecko^; 04-23-2022 at 03:16 AM. |

This is $29 on amazon. Dealer wanted $33 for the same product. The Pennzoil Syncromesh is only $10 at Autozone. I haven't been able to find any reason /not/ to use it, so I guess I'll just have to see what happens over time. |
