Default Difference between 'Pickup' and 'D21' ...???

Hey buds,

Some parts dealer on Ebay, is trying to tell me there is a difference between a Nissan 'Pickup and D21'-----???

Mind you, we are talking about my Truck which is 1994.

I sent him the VIN# and he came to this conclusion...(which is news to me, and i've had the Truck 25yrs)

What say you....is he correct?

thanks for your input....

The D21 in the U.S. was the Hardbody. But comonly called a pickup. I do think there was a difference in other countries.

They all were equipped with different engines, transmissions, and some other drivetrain parts. And even some differences within each engine, e.g., two different distributors were used in my year, 1990, on the KA24E. And injectors, emissions-controls, OBD, etc. changed through time.

No, he is confused. A D21 is also refereed to as a pickup, there is no difference. But I'd also question the seller if he is so "unclear" to tell you this.

So, care to share who is telling you this information? I, personally, would like to know who this is...

edit: Oh, the ONLY differences are between the years. The tech advanced reflected this in the later models.

Probably at least as bad as a Jeep so worse than a cow.

The two weirdos are early 86.5 trucks and 93. Most places will list parts for 11/86-97 so late 85 build and early 86 build can be different. 86.5 is slightly different electrically than anything later.

93 is a weird year with some having 92 parts, some having 94 parts and some having specific 93 parts.

Never heard of them referred to as "850".

It's all explained right here.
Also it is part of the reason why my build thread is called "Project 850"
