Default Needing a starter

My starter has been going down for a couple months. It was only taking two turns to get it crunk, but last night she got me a little worried. So my question is, where is the best place to buy one? Auto Zone offers a new one and some remanufactured ones. I’d rather go new. Anyone had luck with Auto Zone starters? Or should I order one from Rock Auto?

V6 or 4? Will make a difference. Check this link?

V6: https://www.nissanparts.cc/oem-parts...IFJlc3VsdHM%3D

They don't have one listed for the inline 4. )o:

I just ordered a hitachi remanufactured starter from rock auto for 83.00 plus 45.00 core. Get core charge back when I ship them my old one. Try partsgeek.com. They have a ton of new.

Thanks, consider adding that in your profile, please.

So, you were vague about your starter issue. Can you provide more details? What's it doing/not doing, that has you concerned?

Wait for it, others will chime in with recs for a purchase.

Any time I go to start the truck it makes a “vroom” sound then a click. I turn the key back and it starts on the next crank. Until late night, I had to crank it four times before it started. On some rare occasions it will fire right up the first time.

Prob just the solenoid on the starter is going bad, but we'll need others to join in... who have more experience than myself.

Personally, I don't recommend a rebuild or remanufactured starter because they are a lot of work to replace and send back for a replacement if it is bad.

I'm recommending something new with a brand name. No nameless parts from China.

Normally i would day order one, but my philosophy is a bit different. I am going to play the devil’s advocate. On things that can cause big headaches (starter, alternator etc) I purchase those locally. I do not have time to wait on the warranty swap with the sorry ass post office. Having said that, I have replaced my hardbody starter once under warranty in 9 years and one swap with the alternator. I had my alternator rebuilt by a local guy the first time it went out and it failed six months after the one year warranty. Now I use oreilly for things like that. The manager there went to school with my sister and I don’t wanna say that helps me, but yeah it helps lol

Now if you have something else to drive and do not mind waiting for a mailed warranty swap, then by all means go that route.
