The flares on the bed are the same for the 4wd and 2wd. The front flares are different between 2 and 4wd. The 4wd/pathy are quite a big larger.

The rear pathy flares are set up to clear the rear doors that the D21 doesn't have (in the US).

Not D21 related but earlier I tried using one of my scan tools for something I haven't tried before...programming new keys. It was a success, and about $280 cheaper than the dealership wanted for two new ones.

Anytime you don't have to pay the dealership for those "exclusive" parts, it's a win. Congrats, SBJ.

Thanks man. This was for a Toyota vehicle and they are pretty straightforward to clone keys for. The blanks were ~$20 online plus a few more bucks to have a hardware store cut them. The actual programming part only took a few minutes. The Toyota dealership in my town is stupid expensive even by dealership standards, so anytime I can avoid going there is a win.

In all fairness the kind of scan tool you need isn't cheap, but it's the kind of thing that pays for itself pretty quickly.

By chance, which scan tool did you use to program the key(s)?

I don’t need keys programmed. Bit just thought others could use this information.

I use a cheapy Pep Boys PT Performance($25 minus $5 coupon) for quick, not so in depth reads, and a Zurich 13 from Harbor Freight for Live Data, ABS & SRS.

It's probably TechStream.

Not techstream actually. I still need to get my hands on a cracked copy of it though.

The tool I used is a launch x431 v. They sell the same tool in a smartphone package called the diagun iv. I also have an autel mp808 which is similar in it's capabilities, although I haven't tried using it to program keys yet. Definitely wait until the end of the year to buy one, since you can usually get the outgoing model at a discount.

I'm pretty sure autel makes HF's line of scan tools. I have a more basic one that I've owned for several years and have never had an issue with it. I think that particular model has been discontinued though.

A note about dealerships selling new cars:

MOST of their profit does not come from the sales of the vehicles. It comes from the Service and Parts Department.

LOL I almost got arrested once at a Toyota dealership years ago. A 'clutch switch' on a 70's Yota truck I owned has this thing mounted like a relay under the hood. It is a simple and small on-off relay. The dealership wanted 80 bucks in 90's dollars for it. Yeah, right.

I told this guy: "When people try to rob me, I'm not going for it unless they have a gun. And you don't have one. But this is robbery all the same."

I don't know what got into me, I swear. This clerk flusters around for a while and tells me I should leave before he calls the cops. I told him okay, but as I left told the other people in line they better have fat wallets.

An hour later I picked one off an old Toyota at the wrecking yard for a buck.

What is pansy if he threatened to call the cops over that!

My local lithia is wayyyyyy over priced like that. They wanted $60 plus like an hour of labor to replace the air filter on my girlfriend's car. I spent $5 on a Wix filter and about 15 minutes replacing it. The air box on that car is really poorly designed.

Progress on Saturday. Parking brake cable bracket relocated and speedo cable fixed once again.
