I checked the cruise (ASCD) wiring too, those aren’t it either.

Were there ever any towing add-ons? Like a brake assist?

Yes, I did until I swapped over to a Chevy harness. It is for something you don't have, or for some purpose at the factory. That's always been my guess.

It looks like a radio connection plug.

I know most trucks came with the 6-speaker option with a crappy, built-in amp.
