Default Anybody have experience with Performance Chip Tuning?

Does this really work?

Is it for real?

They also have a Stage 1 & a Stage 2 for less money and lower HP. So just pick which "stage" you want and plug it in.

Any feedback is appreciated!

Thanks!

Well, I can tell you this much....they are getting really bad reviews at the Better Business Bureau website. Bad sign. Besides, the OBD 2 computer you have is set to certain parameters mostly for emissions stuff, not performance. Might be a big ripoff. See the reviews:

https://www.bbb.org/us/ca/murrieta/p...stomer-reviews

Besides, it isn't really your computer that increases performance. Shoving more air into the engine, more fuel, and less back pressure does that. Like...turbo, supercharger, cam, dual exhaust or less restrictive exhaust. Stuff like that. Not a chip. The chip is likely a scam.

If it includes a sticker, then you got something.

Not worth it. If you must have a tune talk to JWT in socal. Plug and play tunes are not tunes and best bet they just try to trick the ECM or they just adjust your throttle curve so it seems faster and don't actually make more power.

Tunes don't generally do much for NA gas engines. My Audi is tuned, JHM, which is an expensive tune. It helpes a little but also reshapes the power curves and changed the valve timing. Makes it more aggressive. Without all the fancy trick bits like variable valve timing and all that you only have fuel and ignition timing to play with. Only so much you can do with that. Advancing the ignition timing could give you what a tune for a D21 might do.

A true chip will be soldered or otherwise directly installed on the motherboard of the ECM. Newer vehicles, like my Audi, can have the EPROM flashed over OBD.
