I've got an '87 Hardbody SE-V6, 2wd, manual trans that I've had since new. It's got 465k miles on it. Just bought an entire '02 Xterra as a donor. Will be going from VG30i to VG33e. I was a Nissan dealer tech for 4 years and have my own shop now. Plan is to pull the VG33e, tear it down to the long block and use it as a core to buy a reman (has 217k on it). I've already replaced the entire steering system with all new parts. It'll also be getting all new hydraulics (brake and clutch). It has new rear leafs and shackles with urethane bushings, new shocks all around and new 15" aluminum rims and LT highway tires (it's gonna be a daily driver, not a mudder). Has a new 2.5" stainless exhaust with a new 2.5" cat and Magnaflow muffler. New OEM fuel pump as well. Plan to steal the seats out of the Xterra as well. Thinking about trying to swap some of the front sheetmetal and grille also. Wish me luck.

Take the spindles off of the xterra and upgrade your brake system too.

I'm using the harness and ECU off the Xterra. Looks like I might have a transponder key though, so I'll need to swap the immobilizer module, ignition cylinder and antenna as well.

Could I ask you a few questions? Iím in the middle of this swap and Iím having issues with the mounts.

Best bet would be to start a new thread. Itís more likely to be seen, and seen by more people. There are several guys here whoíve completed the VG33 swap so youíre bound to get the help you need. Welcome to infamous Nissan!

That's literally the easiest part of the swap. You basically bolt on the stock hardbody mounts to the new engine.
