Question Console integrated with sub enclosure

All,
New member to IN, but have been a Hardbody owner/enthusiast since 1999. I've recently purchased a low mileage 95 extended cab. Being a car audio enthusiast I want to do a good SQ build. I'm running two options in my head, and want some input please. Option one would be put a single sub in the extended cab, in an enclosure small enough to lift out in the event the kiddos need the back seats to ride. Or my other option is that since the center console looks a bit shabby, to maybe have a custom console / sub enclosure built, that looks discreet (factory) and doesn't take up too much space in the back. Has anyone done this before? Pictures would be great. And I plan to run a single 10" or 12". Amps under the seat. This wouldn't be a total DIY, as I have a car audio installer thats pretty handy as well. Thanks in advance.

the width of the center console is really narrow and will not give you much air space, most of the air space you will need will end up in the extra cab part of the truck. doable? im sure worth it trouble not really. I think the first idea you have is the better option. with an SQ build id be more concerned with making a really nice front stage. Getting the imaging up high enough will be an issue.

IMHO, a 10 or a 12 could be overkill for the little cabin of a D21. I have a couple 6.5s and maybe one of them will go in my truck in a sealed enclosure. I run 2x 6.5 Panda subs (designed by a buddy of mine) in a sealed enclosure on about 500w in my Audi station wagon and I'm around 130db. It's loud. You will either drown out everything with a 12 or not have enough can volume to get as loud as you want.

For SQ, balance everything. Sound dedener is wanted in the doors and probably roof. I too can see getting the imaging up high enough could be difficult.

I'm curious to see what you come up with for an enclosure.

This is helpful information. I have been wondering if one 12 or 10 would work until I looked into Sundown Audio and Skar Audio 8" and 6.5 subs.

Hit me up if you are interested in the Panda. I can put you in touch with the guys that made them happen. They blow the Skar and sundown 6.5 and 8s out of the water but are at least twice as deep.

The little subs are awesome with the right enclosure and you do not want to blow the windows out.
