Hey everyone, I've been having a no crank no start issue since the other day. the truck died on me at the dump.
I did some research and came to the conclusion that id test the inhibit switch, so I unplugged it, ran 2 jumper wires to complete the connection and she started right up. so I went down to napa and got a replacement (25230-89981)the replacement is a hair bigger and generic black but the layout is the same and the part numbers matched. when I plugged the new switch in it wasn't starting. tried jumper wires again and it starts. Is it possible I got a dead relay from napa? is there something else I should check that could be preventing the relay from getting power? I'm at a loss considering it fires up with those connections wire jumped. |

Welcome to IN...
It does help to know much more about your truck... 2WD/4x4? Inline 4 or v6? Auto or manual trans? It could be something else, so...

If it has an inhibitor relay it's auto. The relay is located by the window washer jug.

I may be calling the part by the wrong name, it might be the clutch/starter relay switch? The blue double plug relay mounted next to the battery on the passenger fender wall. Pictured above. |

The blue one in the pic below should be the Neutral or Clutch interlock relay.
Those are safety devices that make sure you aren't an idiot when you try cranking the engine. ![]() After mine failed on me twice, I cut the connectors off and just wired those 2 permanently together.
