I purchased this truck from the second owner whom only used it to take it out hunting in. It has 71000 miles and seems to run good but what parts should I change before I drive it so hard for 24 hours basically?

Oil change air filter check tire pressure coolant level. I'd take a look at the belts and make sure everything is greased and oiled no major leaks etc. I've had 3 Nissans and they were all great around town but anything longer then an hour and a half they usually hated. Maybe just my shit luck lol I'm sure bothers have better input.

Ive done a couple 1000 mile round trips with mine and will be putting close to 600 on this weekend.
All I do it make sure tire pressure is fine, top off fuel, maybe change the oil if it close to needing it and check all other fluids. Check air filter, load it up and go!

I've driven mine 12 hours with only small stops and it rode smooth the whole way. I'd drive mine just about anywhere without much worry tbh. But just about any other 25 year old vehicle I'd be worried.

They start over heating or just start acting funny. They never liked long rides.

i would take a roll of duct tape (works well to patch a blown hose) a tool set, some water and oil and maybe grab the belts at a parts store. the cheap ones can be bought for about 5 bucks each, a can of fixaflat, a flashlight and one of those small 12v air compressors to put air in a tire in the middle of no where.

Battery boosters are good to have, too. If that's too much money, at least have good jumper cables. Your battery is probably over 4 years old, so a long drive might make it pop.
You should try a few semi-long drives around town before going all the way on yours, just to iron out any issues ahead of time. Finding problems on the road sucks.

and if you dont grab some belts, pantyhose works for a makeshift belt in an emergency.

I drove my old 87 from NY to Florida 3 times on 33's one time pulling a large box trailer, never had any problems with it.
