What's on your worklist for 2022? Aspirational or just practical?
My "best case" list for my 88 VG30i is: -Pacesetter headers, gonna get VG30e to have cleaner blockoff of stovepipe etc with my carb setup. -Do some very necessary door sealing and sound deadening. My sub fights highway noise but only to a degree. -Get the windshield replaced, OG is starting to delaminate and fog. -Dumb but necessary stuff: P/S pulley, rear brakes. -Money providing, Ziebart spa day for undercoating and bed lining. This is the first Southern truck I've brought to the rust belt so trying to keep it nice. -HEI dizzy or EI for spark advance with the Weber but honestly that's either a 2023 or never. -If it's a really, really good year, a 280z or VW Scirocco for a fun good MPG daily. |

Pull driver door apart for sound deadening and to replace the weather stripping (have all parts waiting)
Check the rear diff Finally look at the rear brakes (I've had the truck 10 years and still never looked at the drums....) Lower the torsion bars a bit and see if I can get a proper alignment. It currently wanders all over the place in 4x4. Oh and I got an E-Stopp electronic parking brake a few days ago. Gonna install that so I finally have a parking brake again after removing mine to make room for cupholders (which, lets be real, are waaaay more important than a parking brake).

![]() What's wrong with it? I looked into the E-Stopp. Got all excited. But it won't work for me because my parking brakes are gutted. ![]()

I sometimes hear some noise back there, and have had the truck for 10 years and never checked the fluid or anything lol, I figure it's just time to give it a poke.

I just treated my new (18 year old) truck to the same stuff. I'm a believer.

- fix my transmission leak
- new windshield - put sway bars on/mod a crossmember - re-do the whole exhaust, maybe a header as well - get a new gas tank shield - replace all window trim on both doors - new tires and roll, maybe slight pull, bed fenders - flush radiator, replace thermostat and coolant - possibly do the timing chain at some point |
