NISSAN/Datsun Tailgate with big NISSAN in middle - Infamous Nissan

Hello!

I just became a owner of my first Nissan D21! Its a 1991 D21 single cab 4WD with NO rust! I can't believe I found one. Anyway, I am trying to find the old NISSAN/Datsun tailgates with the HUGE Nissan writing in the middle of the tailgate and the small Datsun in the left corner. Does anyone know where to find them or what trucks they came on? Thanks a lot!

One of these? This is from a 720 (pre 86.5 trucks).

YES!!! Is there a way to fabricate that tailgate to the D21 or do they bolt up?

You can make anything fit with enough time, lol. I want to say the 720 tailgates are more narrow than the D21 tailgates, but I could have that backwards.

Also where can you find a brush guard similar to the one in your signature?

Took me a long time to find that. I was googling around various offroad forums and found a guy on another forum that worked at a Nissan dealership in Georgia that had it as new old stock. Junkyards/ebay/forums are about the only places to find em anymore. I had to get the brush guard loops (that go round the headlights) separately as my bumper didn't come with em. A member here had a spare set and was kind enough to sell em to me.

There is one of those tailgates on ebay right now. I was searching for one of the older ones for a skin to graft onto mine and ran across it...

Says local pick up only, but I have asked priorto bidding on stuff before and gotten lucky, might be worth a shot...
