now ive read, if you do the 240 intake manifold and cam swap you may need to adjust ignition timing. does anyone know what it may need to be adjusted too?

Adjust the timing to best performance. Adjust it, drive it, check the plugs and keep after it till you find out what works best. Unless you want to spend money on dyno tuning and finding the best timing setting by horsepower and torque numbers. I wouldn't even just set a factory vehicle at the factory timing and leave it alone. I would tune it till i got the most efficiency out of it.
But, to each his own. |

I have a question, in my '86 VG30i, I adjusted my distributor based on how healthy the idle sounds, but with the healthiest sounding idle, it was far slower on acceleration than a little ahead/behind. (Couldn't remember which one I made it.) But the fastest accelerating adjustment barely sounded healthy. My question is, why is this? I did what tinkersalot said and adjusted to performance, but I guess my question is really why isn't the healthiest sounding the best?

I'm figuring Nissan's engineers know a little more about engine tuning that I do, so I just defer to their settings. I'm not saying that things can be done to improve in certain areas, but it's my daily driver.

why is the timing in a KA24E in the 240SX set at 20 degrees, is it because it uses a different cam? Just curious.

> Is the 1990 factory service manual the same as for a 1992?
Yes. There was no change.

Just Curious, but how do you do the Timing on an Automatic with the Vehicle in "DRIVE"?
Jack up the rear wheels. |
