Default Injector problems

I have a 88 Nissan d21 base 2.4l, I have tryed 2 different throttle bodies the one I took off to put new fuel injectors in was a 2 injector am the one I put one was a single injector while I rebuilt my original one the single ran fine till it got to 70 mph an started bucking like starving for gas rebuilt my original factory one put it back on an it does the same thing at 70 mph bucking again does anybody have a clue

I bet your engine is around 2500 RPM at 70 MPH. Right?

You are in Limp Mode. You need to pull the codes and see what the ECU is telling you.

BTW: Single injector TBI (Throttle Body Injection) was typically for the 4 cylinder while the Dual Injector TBI was for the 6 cylinder.

I will try that I will be pulling passenger seat an ECU out, mine is a 88 2.4l 4 spd

Well after a bunch of fuss i got it running. The rockauto injectors seem to be fine. My problem wound up being the ecm. Now to track down why the Speedo, gas gauge and temp gauge don’t work. More fun! Hahaha

88 Nissan Hardbody d21 how do you get black top cover off of ECU box under passenger seat I've got seat out an 3 Phillips screws that hold it to floor don't want to break it

Hi Will,

You don't need to take the cover off the ECU to read the codes. There is a little window on the side, and that should be all you need to read the codes.

There is a link in my signature below that has 2 videos on how to check the ECU codes: One by me for the newer style ECU with the dial switch, and one by Deerhurst for the older style ECU with the toggle switch.

Jp2code. I tryed ECU today an turned key on then switched toggle to dianostis an both red an green lights at same time blinked 1. 1 then 2. 2 then 3 3 then 4 4 then 5. 5 what code is this an I'd try it again turn key off then on same then hit toggle to dianostis same thing Ian sure Iam doing something wrong help

An my hand brake cable strecthed an I got the 2 back cables from inside hubs but can't find front cable to pull handle I have the L shaped brake handle no hand. brake an truck won't hold in gear on hill it's a base 88 d21 factory 4 speed
