Default So pacesetters and oil filter...?

Looks like my Wix oil filter won't be coming out today after all, lol.
What is the plug-like contraption with a wire running to it just left of oil filter boss on vg30e engine? I'm hoping I can remove that and get the oil filter past it.

To the left? Behind? I believe that's where the oil pressure sender goes for trucks with a oil pressure gauge. Should be a small canister looking thing that threads into the block.

I ended up running a toyota filter because the threads were the same and it fit between the frame rails and the header on that side. I should have it listed in my header thread.

That sounds correct, threads into the block.

Oil pressure sender then. You'll need a slightly thinner filter to get past the headers. I also found this the hard way.

This helps with the 02 sensor, since the pacesetters have a 22mm dia threaded bung and the sensor is 18mm
Found that out the hard way as well. Lol
Part no. 20607 p6500

Went 10k on Wix filter before comitting to brute force removal, quite a chore.
Pulled oil pressure sending unit, still no go. Got old filter wedged toward back egress, stuffed a hickory wood handle I keep in there as a lever and eventually popped it out.
NAPA 1348 filter slips right in there.....THANK YOU DEERHURST for covering this.

The pressure switch fitting can be rotated once the sender has removed.

The 1348 is a super common size as well. A lot of Toyota engines use that filter and you pick them up by the case for ~$50 when NAPA has their filter sales.

Just FYI...it's hard to find a cup-style filter wrench that isn't a hair loose on those. A 73mm 15 flute wrench fits them perfectly.

Duct tape on the filter, it's a one time deal...

Probably at least as bad as a Jeep so worse than a cow.

On my LS d21, the filter is right under the hood pins behind radiator, much easier. Lol.
