Stupid question, but can recalls this old still apply? Meaning can I take it to the dealer even now for repair? I would think not.

I think the only TSB that is still in effect is the one that applies to the seatbelts

Foul Mouth said something about a TSB for the shifter boot a week or two ago in another thread on here.

Anyone have info on a shifter boot TSB?

as long as the vehicle is on the road and the recall has not been done and the correct part is still available, the dealership has to honor the recall by law. no matter the age of the vehicle.

If I can find that Tech Service Bulletin number, though, they won't be looking at me like I'm from Alpha Centauri when I tell them.

They swore up and down that Nissan never made mud flaps for the Hardbody until I showed up with a printout from Courtesy Parts. Then, their explanation turned into, "Well, we ain't got that here."

also remember that there is a difference in a recall and a technical service bulletin (TSB)

the difference is the TSB should be a recall, they issued suggestions and a fix, but that was only to be done as a response to a customer complaint.

in other words, that is a shitty way to take care of a problem.
