Default Crown Automotive J5353263 Transfer Case Boot

Addressed my Fred Flintstone hot engine air circulation issue from no Nissan oem or aftermarket chassis specific replacement for the transfer case rubber (or leather) boots.

However, by measuring and eye-balling, I ordered a Crown Automotive J5353263 Transfer Case Boot (currently $20 on Amazon). You have to drill two (2) holes and punch three (3) holes to install slick as hell. No trimming or other mods necessary.

Finished installation. Don't have the leather trim (yet) but that "could be" a Nissan boot it fits so nicely.





Finished with center console removed.


You just put the Nissan trim ring up one full fold of rubber on the "pyramid". Then punch/drill your holes where required. I drilled the rubber for the two (2) factory studs, and punched it for the three (3) factory screws. Note the factory forward bracket in the pic, that had to be removed for install, or you'd have to trim the rubber boot.


The rubber does not stick out on the left, but it is just under the lip of the trim ring. Plenty of overlap for clamping down securely.


You can see the oem screw goes right through the rubber.
Note: That damn trim ring is SHARP. Non-finished at the factory. I cut myself, then sanded the entire circumference of the ring before proceeding with installation.
