Too Old for Suspension Work but Did It Anyway

Here I am, pushing 68 years old next March, and discover my 2009 Xterra has bad shocks and struts. What the hell...I will do the work myself. And I did do the work successfully this weekend.

Along the way I discovered a broken leaf spring on the passenger side...so I fixed that as well. Had a shop make me one and installed it. Now I'm REALLY tired. :)

And after all THAT....the wife wanted an oil change on her 2011 Toyota Avalon. So I did that too. I slept very well last night. :drink:

I keep wondering how long I can go on doing this sort of work at my age, and the answer is...until I can't do it anymore. Wife says, "You're getting older. You should just face that..."

Really? So guess what happened right after I did all this work and we went to bed. Yeah, baby. I ain't THAT old yet. She got up this morning with a smile on her face and said, "Maybe you aren't that old yet, after all..."

Ha. :thumb:

I think we still look pretty good for our age, and she's a year older than I am. Picture from last July. Oh...I went with KYB on the shocks and struts by the way. Can't go wrong with them.

The minute you stop moving, the minute you die. Keep moving no matter how old you get!
