Default A/C compressor for Air Ride?

Not sure if this is a stupid question but is it possible to use an A/C compressor and convert it for air ride?

Did some research and theres not really a clear answer or how to.
I'm new to air ride and was wondering if this is what people do seeing how expensive the actual air ride engine compressors are.
Found one online that says air compressor and wondering what would need to be done to convert it if it is possible to.

Opinions and know-how please. Be kind, thanks.

The least expensive option is to get a York compressor off a 70's model ford car and build a bracket for it. A friend of mine picked up one at pull-a-part for about $20. I built him a bracket that put the compressor on top of the distributor and I used his tensioner as the tensioner for that bracket. Google York engine driven compressors or look at onboardai.com for specific info on those compressors.

Is there any certain specs I should look for?

Make sure it has a V belt clutch. And make sure it looks like the big rectangular Yorks you see in the pictures. Mine is actually a Tecumseh, and is nearly identical to a York.
