Default DraggnDoors

Starting my build thread. I've let my truck sit for about 2 years and now its time to do something with it. this pile is getting a complete overhaul. all new suspension, bodydrop trad/sf to the doors, chrome 18" eskies, chevy small block w/700r4 tranny, mostly stock body with only a few things shaved (gas door, hood pissers, wipers, cowl vents, antenna).

the motor is a chevy 350 that was bored 0.030 over. it had some issues with the cylinder walls so now its 0.060 over. it will get a 3.75 stroke crank, flat top pistons, and 64cc heads. that pushes it to a 388 cubic inch with somewhere in the 10-10.5:1 compression ratio range. the block is back from the machine shop and ready for assembly.

i'm still in the process of parts shopping and what not. im using my buddies shop once we are done racing for this season (around september).

anyway here are some pics of what i got to work with.

wheels, still gotta get them bored and tires

the mockup block with some parts from my old s-10 project, might change some of these parts, not sure yet.

the block back from the machine shop, dropping it off at my buddies place.

progress is gonna be slow for a few months. i still have alot of parts to get just to get started on the frame and suspension, tube arms, slam bags, new links and brackets, accuair gear. i gotta find a h233b axle for it with posi and discs. my motor will kill my sissy one leg axle that it has now. i have two of my wheels now and will have the other two and no logo caps next week.

the plan for the rear is a triangulated 4 link, bags behined and under the axle, accuair exo2 mounts for the 5 gal aluminum tank, viair comps, and accuair vu4 valves and ecu with the speedswitch controler. some of you might say "mount the bags on the bars" but i have that now and i like the stiffer ride better. plus i dont need all that extra lift. the front will be dhp arms and crossmember with slam bags and spindles. crossdrilled rotors all around.

anyway, ill post updates as they come and thanks for the comments.

The wonderful world of eBay. Just search "Cadillac escalade wheels" and you'll find them in silver and chrome. I think they were around 30 or 40 bucks.

Just a suggestion; you could always narrow a full size chevy 4wd axle...they're 6 lug and could easily handle the power you're gonna throw at it...

Gonna be a badass truck either way...I wanna see more pics! Lol

Yeah I've been thinking about that too. I'm gonna narrow the rear either way. I hate flaired bedsides. $345 for moser too make axle shafts for the Nissan. Also thought about stretching the stock flair, like what they do on bodydropped dualies making it taller. But I hate doing bodywork.
