which one goes to the reverse light, which one needs power ect? ?

Well the one to the left, on the transfer case is obviously the 4WD switch. The middle one is the Neutral switch and the far one towards the tranny front is the reverse switch.

what about the one in the blue circle? also since i'm doing a tranny harness from scratch, do any of these plugs receive + power?

Cant help much with the wiring. I know that all the 4WD switch does is light up a dummy light on the instrument cluster so not a real big deal. The blue circle you have shows the wiring harness for the reverse switch. Yellow is the harness for the neutral switch. And I assume the red is showing part of the transmission harness coming from the main body harness. Good luck.

Is anyone still around to help me with this? Today I pulled and re-loomed the 8 wire bundle these two switches are part of. Both of mine have the wire to the switches hanging on by barely a thread to one of the leads of the switches.

I'm confused why there is only one wire to each switch when the switches themselves have two separate leads/connection points*on them... I've got a Pathfinder and the manual does show only 1 wire going to each sensor, but it seems off. How do you know which connection point is the right one?

I guess my 4x4 light doesn't work because it never has illuminated. How to I buy new leads/switches if I cant fix it myself? I checked my local auto shop and rockauto and the part doesn't seem to exist.

The reverse switch should have its own pair of wires that connect to the switch. The 4wd light will also have its own pair of wires.

The reverse switch should be pretty simple. Connect it to its pair of wires.

The 4wd light uses both the 4wd and neutral switches in series. This was always confusing because all of the single wire connectors that went to the two switches were identical.
You should have a pair of wires in the harness for your 4wd light. One goes to either side of the Neutral switch. The other side of the Neutral switch goes to either wire on the 4wd switch. The other wire on the 4wd switch connects back to the other wire in the pair in the harness to complete the series loop.
If you don't have two wires on your 4wd switch, one of them broke off. You may be able to solder a new wire onto the tiny stub that protrudes.
