Default Need help with neutral safety switch wiring

Trying to figure out which wire goes where no my neutral safety switch on the side of my transmission, 94 Nissan D21 2.4 5spd 4x4. There is a white wire and a red wire, how would I know where to plug each one on the switch? Or how could I test? I'm probably going to pick up a new switch soon. Any help would be appreciated!

It’s a switch, so it doesn’t matter which one goes to either terminal. The testing for the switch is that is has continuity in neutral only. It is open when in any of the gears. Welcome to infamous nissan!

Welcome to Infamous Nissan! It probably doesn't matter on the switch...but notice that your switch...looks like one terminal is slightly different than the other. Probably will only go on one way anyway. You should be okay.

Do you know what caused the switch to fry like that? Don't want to install another and have it do the same thing...
