I was wondering that myself, Have you figured out the issue? My 97 has been giving me hell! I cannot figure out the problem....

This should not be an issue on newer Hardbody trucks. I don't know the year, but Nissan discovered the problem and fixed it. I think there was even a service bulletin where owners with the issue could bring their truck in to have it fixed, but I don't know if Nissan still does that.
