Its a good thing that your temp gauge is leaning towards the C. Doing another flush of the cooling system will help it some more.

I took this photo of my temp gauge back in June 2021 in 90 weather with the A/C on coming home from work in stop and go traffic. Its a good indicator of where the needle should be. I call it at 46%, if H is 100% and C is 0%.

Finally finished my complete front brake job today including the initial bed-in of the pads. Bled the air in the sequence from the FSM. It made ALL of the difference! I was close in my bleeding order. But would have never finished without the FSM as a guide.

Put new Raybestos Brake Calipers, which were plug ‘n’ play units. New slide pins with grease, boots, piston seals, and dust cap. The OEM driver side caliper was frozen in place. I could not get it to retract with the compression tool. But these Raybestos calipers are very nice!

New pads have an indicating cut in them in the caliper’s sight window when it’s time to replace them. So no more measuring! Very nice!

Replaced the bearings with National brand bearings and hand packed them with hi temp red grease.

Replaced the OEM bearing races with new ones. I used this bearing removal kit(I believe the sizes needed are 72mm for the outer race and 76mm is the inner race): https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07VY...b&spPl=1&psc=1

So the next 400-500 miles of moderate driving(I drive 300 miles per week) will complete the break in process of these new semi-metallic pads and drilled and slotted rotors.

Next will be new rear drums and shoes along with all new brake hardware from the same company as the front rotors and pads. I ran those old pads down to the rivets!

My truck is now officially back in service, after a nice 2 week “break”.

Edit - The attached photos are displayed sideways. I don’t know why. I did not take the photos that way. Is there any way the Moderator(s) can correct the orientation of those attached/posted photos! Thank You, if you can!

I will report back after driving the truck for the specified amount of break in time on the pads, rotors and calipers. So far, all works perfectly. Time will tell.

Probably not but maybe. The 93 is kind of a bastard year. If the face of the 92 and the 93 match chances it'll work are good. If the 93 has the hybrid 92/94 cluster I can't say.

Drove the truck today to work and back and am still in the early process of bedding-in the pads to the rotors. Everything feels great! Solid pedal feel, great stopping power and great braking response when needed and when on purpose. Very happy with the parts and performance they are giving to me. I originally used Auto Zone DOT 3 brake fluid. But when I switched out the master cylinder, I switched to Lucas DOT 3 brake fluid. Don’t notice a difference. But maybe time will tell. I’ll get about 300 miles on the pads and rotors by Thursday. I’ll get even more by Sunday. So these pads should be fully bedded-in by Sunday.

Nice going on the brake job, PNB. With thin doors, no crush zones, and only a 25 year old airbag to protect you...top-line brakes are really a necessity on a hardbody...unless you want to gamble with your life.

Love my Xterra, but miss my truck. Badly. I just hope that kid down in Tri-Cities, WA is taking care of it like I did. He paid almost five grand for it, so I hope that motivates him not to just beat the hell out of it. I keep hoping he will show up at Infamous...told him about the site a few times while he was checking out the truck.

I blew my headgasket today... I was on my way home from work, about a mile from my house, and the temp needle pegged out QUICK, then settled about half way up the gauge. I watched it like a hawk the rest of the way home. Let it cool down and checked the oil level, and it was about a quart over what it should have been. Pulled the rad cap off and it was about a gallon low on coolant. Refilled and bled the coolant system and crunk it up, and i could see coolant seeping out between the head and the block. Oh well, time for a rebuild i guess. I could just do a head gasket, but im gonna bring the head to get decked, so i might as well do a full febuild while i wait. Im gonna get a 240 cam to put in it and change the lifters while ive got the head apart. I wish i could find a 240 intake to put on it, but theyre scarce in my neck of the woods. Any other upgrade suggestions while i got it apart?
