I spent most of today taking apart a vw beetle (the new ones, not the classic ones). I was able to diagnose all the problems but I doubt we're going to do much in the way of fixing it as parts for these are a bit spendy. It really makes you appreciate how the Japanese build their vehicles by comparison.

Fixing mine up little by little. In the past 2 days:
- new tailgate handle
- replaced brake light fuse
- some EGR hose
- PCV vent hose
- some other hose that fell apart after I clipped it with my hand
- cleaned MAF
- new headlights
- interior LEDs
- reverse light LEDs
- oil change
- tranny oil change
- power steering fluid change
- clutch bleed with fresh fluid
- spark plugs

In the process, I've discovered that front wheels wiggle on the hub. Time for bearings...

i should have phrased my post a little better. i got the palte from am member here who had it made. words has it the distributor has to be changed to a custom made one wire GM HEI style on a nissan shaft. due to the ECM controlling the timing curve, a vacuum advance system is needed. this setup is approx 450 bucks, the carb is 300 or so new and well it just got expesive for a fuel injection delete.

but i am tired of the problems that keep popping up at random, so carb city here i come.

I installed my dash mat and gave my truck a bath:

That purple truck looks familiar. Did you buy that from a member on here? His is (was?) super clean, too.

I found this truck on Craigslist and the owner moved up to Northern California from Norco. This truck was really worn inside when I picked it up. I don’t know if he was ever on here, I doubt it though because he didn’t know much about these trucks other than it was “a great truck”. I’ve actually cleaned it up a ton since I purchased it.

I don't know where Yucaipa is.

I had to go searching. The other owner is djs.

See his thread pics of my 95 hb.

Now that I see his and yours, it's obviously different. Regular cab vs king cab.

When I bought green truck back in 08 it was between 2 hardbody trucks, green and a purple one. I went with green but the purple one was just as nice.
