I have an 2001 fronty with 175K miles. Its towing capacity is 5000lbs. Do you think because of its age and miles will be able to handle towing 4300lbs across country?

Yes, mechanically I've had zero problems. Only problem ive ever had was changing out the distributor. Ive done its regular maintenance with regular driving. Never really drove it hard or carried any heavy loads.
Also, here are some specs if it helps. It is lifted, 3in suspension and 3in Body lift. 32in tires. Its automatic. Trailer will have brakes on 1 of 2 axles. I might add brakes to the second axle. Brake controller installed. And I intend to use a weight distributing hitch. Last edited by Bolo619; 01-02-2019 at 12:14 AM. |
