Welcome to Infamous.

Don't forget to take out that bench seat and toss it into the dumpster. Replace it with a pair of buckets.

Well, I search ebay then make sure it's a Thai seller then ask them the question before I buy. At one point my black truck was going to be all chrome.

I've also seen with my own eyes Thai parts on aussie trucks, sourced from ebay, not the plastic coated stuff either.

Did a search there today. Some legit chrome handles, but only for Frontiers and 720s. Couldn't locate anything for D21.

IIRC the 1st generation frontiers use the same tailgate as the D21. So a handle for an early frontier would also fit a D21. Someone more knowledgeable than myself should weigh in on that though.

Yeah. The 98 and maybe 99 Frontiers share parts. After that no guarantees.

I have seen a crew cab Frontier here in my town. One of those years. I gotta start packing a camera.

Yep, they get snapped up quickly, but they will come back, you just setup alerts.

Sent a nasty note to the seller of my $21.99 handle advertised as "CHROME", but showed up black. Yes 98 and 99 frontiers had same tailgate and handle as D21s. The link for this $21.99 false ad was provided by a long-time member here. The handle I had ordered previously that was advertised as black was only 7 bucks. My searches today showed prices from the 7 dollars all the way up to about 130 bucks. None today promised chrome. None mentioned Thailand. I am convinced if a chrome one ever shows up at my door i will shit and fall back in it. All good anyway.

Takes some persistence to find. We actually have a specialist Nissan datsun shop in my city, I'll keep an eye out for any.

For any of you living in the Puget Sound area, or anywhere else...you know it is TOUGH to find a shop that can actually FIX these trucks at a fair price. Most of these shops have no idea how to repair a TBI system or anything D21. And if they play guessing game on you, expect a big ass bill anyway.

But here there is one really good shop that I highly recommend. It is definitely worth the trip to take your rig there:

Dave's Valley Auto Clinic in Auburn, WA. These guys are good, they will even take your rig apart if they have to...just to figure out for sure what is wrong...and put it back together if you say no to the suggested repairs.

For free...yes. The last time I used them I had them replace the timing belt and water pump in the wife's 98 Pathy. Parts, labor, tax, everything...bill came to $780. 70 of that was sales tax. They actually pulled the front cover, put a belt on the rig, started it up for a few seconds to make sure the broken belt hadn't caused any engine damage...found out the engine was fine...and then they called me with the estimate.

Here is the link to their website.
