Default What is this silver oil on intake 94 hb

There is a silver type of oil almost grease around the intake just under the air filter rubber seal. I wonder if its oil starvation. I have been using an oil additive thought I had a rod bearing knock but it wasnt.

It come off on your finger like silver paint.

There is no photo that I can tell. I think he is saying a pic needs to be posted or we are all just guessing.

That said, I have encountered *a very small amount* of 'silver stuff' in that same area on other Nissan trucks. But all it was...just from a bit of rubbing from years of the air cleaner assembly riding (and occasionally bouncing) on top of the TBI or fuel delivery (fuel injector) area. More of a light powder, though and not a lot. If it is there, you see it around the throat area. (air intake) Comes off on your finger sort of like powdered paint or something.
