After joining Rockauto.com I changed my plan for the timing chain job next month. This is what I'm going with now:

1) Usual oil and antifreeze change out. Oil will be Quaker State factory recommended weight, no synthetics, with a quart of HyPerLube added first.

2) Going with a high quality timing set from Rockauto that does NOT include the oil pump or water pump.

3) Water pump and fan clutch assembly, US motorworks. Oil pump, Hitachi. Truth is I don't trust the oil and water pumps that come with those timing kits you see at Amazon, etc.

4) Mr Jim ratcheting tensioner. Usual other gaskets, etc. Total cost around $400 and that includes shipping, tax. I can live with that.

That was about my budget for THIS project. I decided to wait on the tranny gear oil and rear end oil change out, to make room for the $130 bucks for the Mr Jim. If I go over five bills in one shot...wife starts bitching LOL. So will do the gear oil stuff in October. (Wife doesn't know it, but I'm going with a new, high end distributor at the same time. *insert evil laugh here*)
