Nae, I want to keep mine as simple as possible. I left it a VG30i with the TBI. I've got a spare throttle body laying around when I eventually need new injectors and whatnot.

I estimate mine to be in the 400,000 ~ 500,000 mile range, but all that is left is the original frame, and most of the body. All of which has been altered, and the cab structure was refabricated last year.
I bought it 11 years ago, with about 240K. It was ready for the junk yard then, but I guess I felt sorry for it. It needed everything. The original block came out last year after 29 years of hard use. The original axle failed about 200,000 miles before that, and the original trans was long gone before I bought the truck.

260K-ish, no rebuilds, minor suspension replacement, usual failure parts. Slowly redoing it.

my 95 4cyl 5spd has 287,774 original motor (only replaced timing chain) trans was rebuilt at 100.000. Still has plenty of power. Does smoke a bit when the oil needs to be changed.

My 95 D21 KA 5spd odometer stopped working at 135k about six years ago, estimating at least 200k. On original motor and tranny, only suspension replacement and routine maintinance. Love the truck!

i just joined the d21 crowd recently. i have an 87 z24i 5spd. i have no history on it but have been doing work on it since i got it. tranny and engine seem original. all the grime matches. got it with 199k and a busted speedo which looks to have been busted for a long time. needle has dust collecting on it. somebody even fixed it once and hand tied an actual sewing needle where the speedo arm was.
im doing timing gears/chain and oil pump and some other work but no internal engine or tranny work. will never know how many miles i put on the thing. a replacement cluster is too expensive for this rat truck so its getting an old gps instead so i can tell how fast im going. |
