Well, that's not right. Come on man, it's simple, fix it and could lead to more problems.

It's probably the fluid, check it! You don't want to start sucking air..... at some point, you may not have any brakes. Don't want this!

On the '97 HB. The hand brake lever is located on/under the dash board on the right hand side.

EDIT - To add to my post...what other issues does the truck have?
