Have you checked the fluid level yet? It may be fine, or low. Do some reading about the proper, old-school fluid that is required.

Replace the ground strap, and add a second directly from the negative battery terminal to somewhere on the block or head. Check/clean/tighten the other ends of your battery cables too. Be safe!
