I fought with it for a couple...

Well, I'll bet I found the source of the problem... Looks like about 7 major chunks of a bearing in the drain pan....

Looks like tranny rebuild time.... And new clutch.... Maybe a flywheel...

Intermittent operation with Heat issues are usually signs of a failing electronic components.

Sounds like the Driver transistor is on its way out...

They help reduce body roll in corners, but they will also keep the truck more stable in a corner.

While looking for my poly bushings for the front end, I decided that "while I was in there" I should freshen up/upgrade some other stuff as well... 283000+ miles have started to take their toll... :D...
