Opinions and advice

Got a 93 king cab 2wd 5-speed has the ka24e.... Plan on putting a ka24De in when the og engine gets done for... Opinions on a turbo set up what about the block(I.e.boring decking stuff like that).. Not looking for tremendous numbers just something with some pep and to have fun with sometimes... Open to any advice thanks new to this forum so really don't know where to start looking

The KA24E has plenty of get up and go already, if running well. Keep the truck's weight down as low as possible, though.

That may be but mine is on the verge of dieing... I just want something that's not stock but not way over doing it. Something fun

Rebuilding the KA24E is your least-resistance (and highest resale) option.

But ... a SBC, a four (or more) speed trans, a good rearend, and other suspension/braking improvements would be quite doable.

Or, better yet, put a Hemi in it. :-)

When say it is about to die, how many miles does this engine have on it...and what is wrong with it. I agree that rebuilding is the best option. Lot less problems.

It's got 230000(going up) on it now but it has a little blow by and the timing chain rattles like a pissed off snake...it used to just be a couple seconds at start up but I've noticed recently when I turn my radio down while driving I hear the chain rattle sometime too

Replace the timing chain, tensioner, and all that so you can buy yourself a couple more years. If it’s feeling low on power, check the timing with a timing light, should be 10 btdc.
