That was some serious investigating, Tony.
I wonder if your 2017 Frontier Desert Runner sits higher in stock trim than my 2008 Xterra Off Road. |
B pillar forward same.

Not many follow my build thread so here are the highlights. |
|
Yes, the rear is completely different but after tearing 2 hardbodies and 2 pathys down to the frames, the front mounts are exactly the same. My d21 cab swap was a direct bolt on affair. That is a 2wd 86.5 long bed v6 cab sitting on a 92 xev6 wd21 pathy frame. I only used longer bolts because i added a body lift.

Last one and the latest. 2003 Xterra vg33er bolts right in and the trans is out of a 90 wd21. |
|
Maybe it's just from the extra weight the pathy has over the rear wheels? and empty HB bed weighs much less than the steel and glass the Pathy has back there.
|
I'm not saying the cab mounts aren't the same, they would be in the same locations, so the cab from the Hardbody would go directly onto the frame from the Pathfinder, but are the actual mounts that are welded to the frame at the same height on the frame?

My Desert runner uses the same struts as the 4wd and has the same size tires as well, per the FSM the height of a PRO4X (should be the same as mine, mine is not listed) is 69.7", the 2008 Xterra 4wd (no mention of different trims just 2 or 4 wd) is listed as having an overall height of 74.9" but that includes the roof rack. So measure from your roof to the top of the roof rack and subtract that from the number above. |
